Four years ago, Kimberly Sanders joined Fellowship Square in what can only be described by “divine intervention.” After serving in a managerial position in the food service industry for some time, Kimberly decided to go back to school and didn’t want the pressure of a management position during that time so she could focus on her studies. However, her sister, who worked in the accounting department of Fellowship Square, encouraged her to apply for the dining room management position.
“I did the interview just as kind of a favor to my sister,” Kimberly admits. It turns out that even though the job was practically promised to someone else, after the interview, Kimberly was hired on the spot. “It was like a gift to me and I knew instantly exactly what we needed to do to improve and make positive changes in our dining room.”
Fast-forward to today — Kimberly was recently promoted to Director of Dining and Housekeeping Services. “I am extremely dedicated to providing a very high level of customer service to the resident experience as well as to the staff in the dining room,” Kimberly explains. “I was promoted to expand that experience across the entire campus, not just in the dining room.”
What she enjoys the most in her new position is getting to interact even more with the residents of Fellowship Square. “I am a people person, so I love visiting the residents, learning more about their lives and interacting more with the staff as well,” Kimberly says. “ I love creating those relationships and bonds with people, and the residents and staff here truly are an extension of my family.”
Kimberly notes how in every moment she has the opportunity to affect people’s lives in a positive way, such as visiting residents when they have to endure hospital stays or being patient as residents come around to her modifications in the dining room. “I love our residents and they truly signify what Christian Care is all about,” she adds.
